Clarian Health Methodist Hospital – Neurosurgery Vibration
Clarian Health Partners Methodist Hospital
Neurosurgery OR’s and Intra-operative MRI 1
Indianapolis, Indiana
Renovation and modernization to create six 700 square foot neurosurgery operating suites and two surgical suites with the first intra-operative MRI in the State of Indiana.
This project was the initial part of Clarian and Indiana University School of Medicine’s plan to invest more than $100 million dollars over five years into building a Neuroscience Center of Excellence near Methodist Hospital. Scope-of-services included floor vibration measurements in existing neurosurgery operating rooms and throughout the area slated for renovation. Floor resonant frequencies were determined and vibration levels due to nearby walking and due to general activity were measured at locations along column lines as well as at mid-bay locations.
Measured vibration levels were reported and compared with vibration level guidelines for neurosurgery operating rooms and with siting criteria published by the intra-operative MRI manufacturer.
